Rear Admiral the Honourable Kevin Scarce AC CSC RAN (Rtd) was born in Adelaide and educated at Elizabeth East Primary School and Elizabeth High School. 

He served in the Royal Australian Navy from 1968, retiring in 2004. His appointments included service on HMAS Sydney during the Vietnam War, postings in Washington and London, Commanding Officer of HMAS Cerberus and Flag appointments as Naval Training and Naval Support Commander. 

Kevin also specialised in military logistics and procurement, rising to the rank of Rear Admiral and Head of Maritime Systems at the Defence Materiel Organisation. As head of the South Australian Defence Unit, he led a government team that contributed to ASC winning the contract to build air warfare destroyers for the Australian Defence Force.

On 8th August 2007, Kevin was sworn in as the 34th Governor of South Australia, serving more than seven years in the role.

Kevin joined the Board of Humanihut in the role of Chair in 2017.

Kevin was awarded: the Conspicuous Service Cross in 1994 and was appointed an Officer in the Military Division of the Order of Australia in 2004, the Knight of Grace in the Venerable Order of Saint John in 2007 and a Companion of the Order of Australia in 2008.

Neale Sutton is the co-founder and Managing Director of Humanihut.

Neale was educated at Melbourne High School after which he graduated as a 2^nd lieutenant into the Australian Army and after a lengthy 37-years of service, retired at the rank of Colonel. In 1999 Neale was deployed to East Timor with the Australian Army and later the United Nations. During this deployment Neale was involved in the repatriation of refugees from West Timor (Indonesia) back into East Timor at the conclusion of the conflict. It was the hope reflected on the faces of individuals and families as they prepared to return to their homes and communities, which quickly turned to overwhelming disappointment once the magnitude of destruction was realised, that was the catalyst for him wanting to find a better way for displaced persons, whether it be by way of disaster or conflict, to be sheltered with dignity.

Neale visited 52 countries as an advisor for Minelab International on the eradication of mines and unexploded ordnance and has held various executive level positions in government. Neale holds a Master of Professional Management.

Stephen has a broad range of experience, ranging from corporategovernance, policy and strategy, program and project management and managementaccounting.

As the CEO of a medium sized civil construction company, Stephen has leda range of business reforms and change initiatives, including growth strategiesand overall year-on-year financial growth.

Having spent almost 20 years working across multiple state governmentportfolios, Stephen has a strong passion for communities, the environment,regional industries and delivering sustainable change. During this time, he hasheld a number of roles, including tenure on a number of departmental governancecommittees, including Audit and Risk, People and Culture, and PolicyGovernance.

He is particularly proud of being able to support the development and implementation of the $265 million South Australian River Murray Sustainability Program, designed to build strong and sustainable irrigation communities, and helped to secure water resources needed for a healthy environment and a prosperous state.

Glenn’s broad range of experiences include an early trade qualification, managing a family business, and leading commercial organisations, all of which provide him with a balanced and skilled approach to manufacturing and design. Glenn’s studies in Mechanical Engineering align with his keen interest to develop and improve product design, material and components, and manufacturing processes, and he is often working on multiple draft prototype solutions. Glenn implemented the first rapid prototyping equipment in Australia at the South Australian Centre for Manufacturing and most recently led Lietzke Australia’s growth with the introduction of new designs and manufacturing techniques.

Jodi has extensive experience managing teams, leading change reforms, and establishing corporate governance structures across a variety of sectors in including banking, health care, and education.

Having most recently spent over 15 years in government in a variety of roles which included state listing and events coordinator and case manager appeals, she played a key role in the case management and administration of all appellate work for the Federal Court of Australia.

Jodi also held the appointment of Admiralty Marshal and undertook arrests both at berth and at sea, managing these matters to resolution.

Ian entered the Royal Military College Duntroon in 1975 and achieved the rank of Colonel before retiring from full time service in 2008. He represented Australia in senior and sensitive diplomatic and operational roles in Malaysia as the Defence Adviser and the USA as the Chief of Defence Force Liaison Officer to United States Central Command in Florida. Ian was seconded to the United Nations as a Military Observer in Israel and Beirut in 1986/1987. Ian is a Member of the Australian Institute of Project Management (MAIPM) and holds a Master of Business Administration.

With a background in community services and youth work, combined with over 25 years of experience in the Country Fire Authority, and his role as a senior officer in the Australian Army Cadet Corps, Brad has exceptional experience in the leadership of professional teams in an environment of competing priorities. With qualifications in community service, leadership, training, logistics and safety, including fire safety, Brad is highly experienced in working with tradespersons, sub-contractors, and a range of suppliers to achieve an outstanding outcome. Brad mentored the South Australian State Emergency Services in the deployment of the Humanihut Field Infrastructure System on Kangaroo Island during the Black Summer Bushfires of 2019/2020, led the deployment of the Humanihut System in support of the South Australian Government Covid-19 indigenous quarantine facilities in remote areas of South Australia, and the emergency responder’s accommodation camp in support of the New South Wales Regional Fires Service during the devastating flooding events of 2022.

Greg has over 35 years of experience in manufacturing, design, product development, project management, and engineering roles across various industries and disciplines. With a background as an electronics technician and with training in Management and Project Management, Greg has worked for some iconic South Australian companies including Minelab, Codan, Redarc and Sage Automation.

With a breadth of business experience in Europe, Middle East, Asia, US and Africa, Greg has trained West African villagers on prospecting for gold using metal detectors he engaged in developing, and established factories in Ireland and Malaysia.

Greg has his eye on the big picture, including when he is on his remote property in South Australia indulging in his passion for Astrophotography.

Steve brings a wealth of international experience having worked across Europe, United States, Africa, and the Far and Middle East for a number of global companies including Airbus Group. Following a lengthy career in the British Army, Steve has acquired extensive business expertise in joint ventures, acquisitions, investments, and mergers. His vast experience both in executive roles and as a Board Member across multiple boards, saw him awarded the Member of The Most Excellent Order of the British Empire by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in 2000 for Services to British Industry. Steve has multiple project management certifications and a Master of Business Administration.
